Tracked Grazing Support Consultation

Tracked grazing can be a powerful tool when it’s set up well, and a nightmare when it isn’t. I work with people who are trying to reduce grass intake, support metabolic or laminitic horses, manage behaviour, or create a more natural movement-based environment, and who want a setup that actually works in real life.

This is individual support with me, Tracy. It’s not a generic track plan and it’s not about copying someone else’s system. Every property, herd, horse, and season is different, and tracks need to reflect that.

The aim of this consultation is to help you design or refine a tracked grazing setup that supports your horse’s physical and mental wellbeing, while being realistic for you to manage day to day.

How this consultation works

You’ll start by completing a questionnaire so I can understand your property layout, herd dynamics, horse history, current issues, grass growth patterns, and what you’re hoping to achieve.

Once I’ve reviewed this, I’ll come back to you by email or phone, whichever you prefer, and we’ll talk through what will work best for your situation.

You’ll receive guidance on track layout, flow, and function. This can include fence placement, track width, movement patterns, water and shelter positioning, resting areas, surface considerations, and how to manage grass access without creating stress or conflict.

We’ll also look at how the track interacts with diet, hay placement, hoof comfort, behaviour, and seasonal changes, so the setup supports the whole horse rather than creating new problems.

This consultation is as much about the horses as it is about the people caring for them. Tracks should make life easier, not harder. The goal is a system that reduces pressure, supports movement and soundness, and feels manageable rather than overwhelming.

Response time

Health related consultations are always prioritised. For tracked grazing support, please allow up to 2–5 working days for a response. Taking the time to properly consider your property, horses, and setup means the guidance is thoughtful rather than rushed.
