Laminitis Support Consultation:

I’ve been helping people with horses, ponies, and donkeys affected by laminitis for more than 21 years. These days I work with around 4000 owners a year from New Zealand and overseas, across every form of laminitis, from early warning signs through to complex long-term cases that don’t follow the rule book.

This is individual support with me, Tracy. It’s not a course, and it’s not generic advice. Laminitis is a bitch of a condition. It hurts the horse and takes a heavy toll on the people trying to care for them. You’re not weak for finding it overwhelming, and you’re not alone in it.

The aim of this consultation is to understand what’s happening for your horse, identify likely triggers, limit further damage within the laminae, and support a clearer, more stable recovery path while also supporting you through the process.

How this consultation works......

You’ll start by completing a detailed questionnaire so I can get a clear picture of your horse’s history, current situation, management, diet, environment, and any veterinary information you already have.

Once I’ve reviewed this, I’ll evaluate your horse’s situation and get back to you by email or phone, whichever you prefer.

You’ll receive a guided recovery plan tailored to your horse. This can include diet and forage recommendations, grazing and pasture management, hay selection, whether a dry lot or track setup is appropriate, and how to reduce ongoing triggers.

We’ll also talk through hoof care and comfort support. This may include hoof boots, padding, movement considerations, and practical ways to keep your horse as comfortable as possible while the laminae recover.

Where relevant, we’ll discuss medications, what to ask your vet about blood tests or x rays, how to recognise whether metabolic factors are involved, and how all of these pieces fit together.

Just as importantly, this consultation supports you as the owner. Laminitis can be isolating, frightening, and exhausting. You don’t have to hold it all on your own or feel like you should already know the answers. This is about clarity, reassurance, and having someone steady alongside you while you work through the recovery, step by step, in a way that fits your horse and your real-world situation.

I understand that laminitis is urgent. So, I always do my best to prioritise Laminitis cases over my other consultations, and I will try to respond as quickly as possible, but depending on my workload, it may take up to a day for me to get back to you. Taking the time to properly review each horse’s situation means responses are thoughtful rather than rushed.
