Made from all natural ingredients including almond and sulfur, our gentle Horse Wash Bars are designed to cleanse the skin and help reduce bacterial and fungal load, supporting common conditions such as mud fever and rain scald.
SULFUR:
Sulfur has long been used to support skin health due to its effectiveness against bacteria and fungi. It works by helping to reduce microbial load on the skin while also loosening and lifting scabs, crusts, and debris where infection can sit and persist.
In our formulation, sulfur is used at a mindful low level of just 2 percent. At higher concentrations, sulfur can irritate or damage the skin, particularly when it is already compromised. This is why our bars are designed to be both effective and safe when used correctly, helping to cleanse without overwhelming sensitive or damaged skin.
PARASITES:
External parasites such as mites and lice can contribute to ongoing skin irritation and damage, particularly in already compromised skin.
Sulfur helps create an environment on the skin that these parasites cannot tolerate, disrupting their ability to live and reproduce, while also helping to lift debris and scabbing where they can hide.
ALMOND OIL:
Almond oil plays an important supporting role by helping to moisturise and soften the skin. It supports the natural skin barrier, reduces dryness, and helps prevent further cracking or irritation while the skin is healing.
This is especially important when dealing with mud fever, where the skin is often dry, damaged, and vulnerable.
Together, these ingredients work to cleanse, support, and protect the skin, creating the right conditions for healing.
For best results, lather directly onto the affected skin, avoiding the eyes and mouth.
Leave on for up to 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat in 2 weeks to complete the course.
